Lovemaking is ART

Lovemaking is ART

My favourite type of art is watercolour love-making. If you’ve ever played with watercolour paint, you know how delicate and sensitive this form of painting is.

It cannot be controlled.
It has to be trusted.

The colours will shape in unexpected ways. And even the slightest touch of the brush will change the creation again and again.

Like lovemaking, watercolours demand you to be present. They ask you to trust, to open up, to allow the creation to form itself into being. If you aim for a desired outcome, you’ll never get there.

If you’re able to let go, however, you’ll get to more extraordinary experiences than you could’ve possibly imagined.

WETSTROKE ART

When I stumbled upon ‘Wetstroke Art’ on Instagram, I immediately fell in love. So I asked her to share her story with me, so I could pass it onto you guys. I think we all enjoy the sensual and erotic beauty of images as such.

Lara McKenzie is an erotic watercolour artist who has been painting for over 20 years. Lara has recently been featured in Penthouse Australia with an article on her “Sex Through The Zodiac” series. Lara’s interest and passion for art began at a very early age. With one of her key influences in mind, Georgia O’Keefe, Lara began to explore the exciting world of erotic art. She is intrigued and excited by the subject and feels it has limitless potential for inspiration in her art. Her practice is now dedicated solely to erotic watercolour art.

Through Lara’s sensitivity and connection, she creates paintings of intimate, and perhaps provocative, moments filled with sensuality, passion and sex-positivity. She invites you to create your own story through her paintings and to light a spark into your own sensual adventures. Her artistic approach is sensitive and soulful from a feminine perspective.

Lara writes “Watercolour allows me the freedom and fluid expression to play the role of the Alchemist. I feel so excited swirling water & pigment together, creating unique reactions in every painting…it’s pure joy for me! There is an element of both surrender & control in my process of making art, which is a powerful analogy for me relating to our intimate moments in life. My paintings have an ethereal quality to them from which I invite the viewer to interpret their own story. My artwork is a personal journey of inspiration, growth & transcending boundaries.”

Lara is based in Brisbane, Australia and offers Commissions, Original Art and Custom Art Prints worldwide; all available through her website www.wetstrokesart.com
